+ What is a sheet mask?
A sheet mask uses a fabric to create a seal on your skin so that a serum (such as Vitamin C) does not evaporate as quickly and has time to be absorbed by your skin rather than by the air. Basically, a sheet mask maximizes the benefits of a serum in a short amount of time (20 minutes!) for a boost of hydration and healthy, glowing skin.
+ Where can I buy your sheet masks?
You can buy directly from our online store on www.uncoverskincare.co , or online from any one of our partners including: Jumia, Beauty Click, My Dawa, Kasha Kenya and K-Beauty Kenya. Alternatively, you can visit the following physical stores: Supercosmetics, Truecosmetics, HealthyU, Goodlife Pharmacy and Earthnique.
+ What's the difference between a sheet mask and a serum or moisturizer?
Our sheet masks are infused with a serum-essence (a more fluid form of serum) and can replace the serum treatment step in your routine. Although many users still follow up their skincare routine with a serum (for extra goodness). Whether you use just a sheet mask or sheet mask + serum, a moisturizer is crucial to lock-in all the good ingredients and keep skin hydrated. Be sure to end your morning routine with SPF (30+).
+ What's the difference between a sheet mask and a jar mask?
A sheet mask helps soak nourishing serum into your skin! A mask in a jar, which just happens to have the same English name, is a different product altogether -- this is meant to help you cleanse, and therefore you wash it off. In contrast, a sheet mask is about inserting the good, so don't wash anything off after use!
+ Are your sheet masks vegan?
No, our sheet masks are not vegan. Our ingredients contain hydrolyzed collagen, which most often comes from marine (sea) sources. Collagen is most effective derived from animals, in comparison to plants, and is a key contributor to youthful skin.
+ Can I use the sheet mask for longer than 20 minutes?
Our sheet masks should only be used for 20 minutes. Sheet masks are infused with actives and when placed on your skin, they will transfer and seep into your skin. However, once your face becomes more hydrated than the sheet mask, it may actually travel the other way.
+ There's so much liquid in the pouch. Can I save it for later?
No, we do not recommend saving it for later. Once you open the pouch, there is potential for it to be contaminated. We wanted to make the most natural, good-for-you sheet mask using minimal preservatives. Instead, we recommend using the excess liquid immediately to rub onto skin (i.e. neck, decollete, arms/elbows, hands) - wherever you need a little extra hydration and love.
+ How often should I sheet mask?
You should sheet mask as often as you would like. You can sheet mask daily, as you would apply serum every night before sleep!
+ Can a sheet mask be used on men?
Yes!! Sheet masks are unisex; however, it does not stick well on facial hair. For those with stubbles, we recommend laying down to ensure the sheet mask does not come off. For those with a full beard, you can cut the bottom half of the mask off with a clean/sanitized pair of scissors and use the bottom half on another part of your body (like your neck or chest).
+ Does your sheet mask work on any skin type?
We've intentionally formulated all 3 sheet masks to work on oil AND dry types, ensuring they are non-comedogenic (non pore clogging). The differences are situational, and often should be with skincare choices; if you've been in in the sun, aloe vera ('I Am Cool') is magic. If you want to detoxify your face from too much Wayaki traffic fumes go for the antioxidant green tea ('I Am Beau-Tea-Ful') and if you want to brighten darkened spots with repeated use, use vitamin c ('I Am Brilliant')! We're happy to answer any followup questions you have!
+ What is the history of sheet masks? / How did sheet masks come about?
People in ancient Korea used to soak cloths in homemade serums to fight signs of ageing. Well, good thing but modern Korean technology has since evolved! Sheet masks have since become a global phenomenon due to its instant effect, ease of use, and it’s a wallet-friendly way to pamper yourself.
+ Do you do skin examinations / offer dermatological services?
No, we don't offer dermatological services -- but the ability to help women get to know their skin better is something the business is looking into for the future, based on requests of fellow Uncover women such as yourself! What kind of results would you want to know about your skin?
